E-Casting in 3 steps:

- VIDEO / TAKES:
CAMERA SET-UP:
Your camera should be put on a tripod or filmed by a colleague (no shaking while recording) in the landscape format (not in portrait-format. Selfies recordings accepted).
1 Video per scene or all edited in one video. If you want to show 2 different versions of one scene, please record it in one go and just say “another version” and start with the other version of the same scene.
You may deliver 3 videos (intro, 2 scenes) or edit the video if you like. Please do not send more than 3 videos. Many thanks!
If you are recording towards the evening, make sure that you have enough lights in the room so we can see you.
The framing should be a mid-shot.

Outfit: Please wear an outfit which matches your role.
1a. Please start with your introduction.
(keep it short and simple)
=> Name, surname, agency (if you have one), age and where you are base.
=> Are you currently to be seen in any on air spots?
=> Please show your hands, front and back and then your profiles.
1b. Please start with the scene.
The scene is set in a room. The Mafia Boss is sitting in a chair or on a table.
Your role is: Italian Mafia-Boss DON.
Character: The Mafia boss is not only bad, he also shows sympathy and gentleness. Especially in the presence of his mother, our mafia boss holds back and tends to be intimidated by his mother. Important: Our spot shows a humorous Mafia spot. His acting should be interpreted seriously but humorously in the same breath.
Director’s Note:
The director would like to see quick switching between the reactions as well as talking with his hands 🙂 It’s a non-speaking role.
Some expressions / emotions that we would like to see in video casting: – Serious facial expression / angry, intimidating look / being intimidated (by mother) / laughing menacingly an loudly Being sad / sympathetic expression / smiling.
Scene/Script:
Here are the scenes as an example of how they could happen to help you. It must not be played 1:1; it is more of a support for you. => The script is to be treated confidentially and shall only be used for the preparation for the casting. Further use or forwarding to third parties is prohibited.

Scene 1
Ben stands in front of the Don and puts his present on the table for him.
DON is still happy about the gift he just received. But turns away from it and joyfully reaches for Ben’s gift and opens it.
He looks completely puzzled and questioning at Ben, who now tries to smile happily and positively.
Don looks questioningly at one of his lackeys. Then he begins to laugh out loud. Everyone laughs too. Ben too.
Don suddenly falls silent and looks at Ben seriously. The atmosphere is tense. Don gives his footman THE LOOK.
Screaming, Ben is dragged backwards towards the door by two muscular guys.
Scene 2
The swing door to the kitchen opens. An old lady DON’S MOM enters the room. She wears a gunner and steers towards Don. She slowly brings Don a fresh plate of spaghetti and meatballs. The gentlemen in the group wait motionless until the lady serves the plate of pasta.
She smiles at him. Don is about to roll up the first spaghetti when she gives him a clap on the back of the head.
Don puts a napkin around his neck, sorry. She smiles and starts walking back into the kitchen. As soon as she is through the door, the gentlemen continue …
